To live fully, one must risk death and its ultimate
decision.
To let go a magnificent obsession is indeed to die a little,

Ok, here it is...my bio. Where do I begin? Hmmm.....in the beginning, while in the womb .... oh....just kidding! ;)
Here goes: Born in Croatia, former Yugoslavia many, many moons ago. ;) I moved to the US in the '70's. Grew up listening to rock and roll. Loved all kinds of music but mostly drawn to rock. What can I say, it moves me. Always was a rocker chick at heart I guess! LOL
Started singing professionally in bands pretty early in my life. By that I mean actually getting "paid" for it. Which doesn't always happen...LOL. At the age of 16, I was playing in rock bands in the tri-state area night clubs several times a week. Don't know exactly how I got my strict immigrant parents to agree to that...but I did! LOL.
Message, Boys Room, Double Trouble, The Gang, Energized and many more. All booked by Apollo Artist Attractions a well known local agency. One of my best experiences was working the Jersey Shore over several summers with Energized at the Playpen. As I recall, we worked 4 nights a week. The Playpen was a huge, huge venue and really an awesome place to play. Held a few thousand people. Big stage, big sound,lights....very cool. A rare opportunity. Check out some of my old videos of that on this page. In a nut shell, I slept, laid out on the beach and played in a band (and got paid) all Summer.....not a bad gig, huh?
During this time, I was also working with some local producers/engineers in recording studios like The Warehouse, met Bon Jovi there a few times although I am sure he doesn't remember. :) People like Lita Ford and Nils Lofgren (one of the nicest, down to earth people I ever met) were recording there. Sang on a lot of tracks there and at Studio 4, John Callaghan's studio and Jeff Gordon's studio. Recorded a national Carefree gum commercial at Jeff's. Made a little money with that one, thanks Jeff. ;)
Left Energized to play the "original circuit" and wrote songs and recorded original material with bands in the Philly area like, Modern Cities, Red Reign and Bitter Sweet. Opened up for some excellent bands like Heaven's Edge, Network, Robert Hazard, John Eddie at places like the Empire Rock Club, The Galaxy, Bonnies, London Victory Club and the Trocardero.
Had some moderate success with the songs being played on local radio stations. I studied voice with Margaret Stefano-Curry, classically trained vocal teacher/guru who helped me learn to scream 3 to 4 nights a week without losing my voice.
Presently, I am the lead vocalist for a Heart Tribute band called Kick It Out.

I am also in the process of working on a solo CD with a good friend and incredible composer, John Callaghan. Also working with us is the amazing, Bugzy Boyer, recording artist, composer, guitarist and vocal extraordinare. The CD will be out very soon.
Lastly, I co-own, co-direct and teach beginner voice at a small music school in the Philadelphia area. www.northridgemusicschool.com
Okay, so that was all the professional stuff. On a personal note, I have been married for over 20 years and have three incredible children who have helped me evolve into a better human being. They are my joy, what I live for...my "masterpieces". I am truly blessed.
I am also a registered nurse. This is something that I am also very proud of. Nursing was my second career and I worked very, very hard at becoming a good nurse. After experiencing illness, pain and loss in my family, I became drawn to the profession because I wanted to help people at their most vulnerable moments. I know, sounds corny....so be it...still true. :0)
So there you go "me" in my own words. Below: someone else's words on "me". :0)
"A vocalist of extraordinary natural abilities, her intuitive sense of melody and pitch are equaled by her extensive years of live performances and studio recording sessions. Started singing professionally in high school, appearing on local TV and radio and rattling the rafters of noted area hot spots which culminated in 20 years of working as a lead singer for many pop/rock and special affair bands performing in the tri-state area."~Chris Hall
So I don't sign into Eternia very often. But you sent me the link for the "I Have A Dream" speech by Martin Luther King, Jr... Which is one of my all-time mantras to live by... As old as I am, I remember passing the marchers between Montgomery and Selma on a family trip. That whole thing impacted my childhood. Thanks so very much.
Just wanting to stop by and say hi :0) I hope you're all doing well and enjoying some warmer weather. Looks like Spring has finally sprung! Have a great day everyone!
Thanks Sandy! Seeing McCartney in concert last summer was the highlight of the summer. So cool to hear the Beatles songs live! Hope you have a great weekend! :)
