What Station Are You Listening To?

Your mind is one of the most powerful things that God has given you. Studies have shown that we only use 10% of our “brain power”. You can train your mind with the right thoughts and when the negative thoughts come your way, you simply say “There’s No Vacancy; There’s No Room Left At The Inn”!

Meditate on the good thoughts and the bad thoughts can’t get in. Do major housecleaning in your mind. Take inventory of the thoughts that are in your mind and evict the bad. Say “The Lease is Not Being Renewed”!

Ignore the negative. You may hear it, but you can choose to ignore it and you don’t have to dwell on it. It just doesn’t register. Let it go in one ear and out the other. In other words, say “Talk to the Hand”.

Perfect analogy – a radio station. If you don’t like what you hear on the radio, you change the station, right? You don’t have to sit there and subject yourself to something you don’t want to hear. You simply push a button. It’s the same principal for hearing negative thoughts in your mind. Change the channel! Tune into the “Victory Channel”. The “Can Do”, “All Things Are Possible” “My Best Days Are Coming”, “I’m Not Going To Endure Life, I’m Going To Enjoy It” channel. Don’t tune into the “Worry Channel”.

Did you know that serotonin levels go down when we think negative? It’s the reason why we have no energy, we feel blah and our enthusiasm is drained out of us. On the other hand, endorphins are released into our system when we think positive. There’s a “spring in our step” and we have our joy back.

Change your station. Change your mind set. Start talking to yourself and don’t let yourself talk to you about negative thoughts.

People may think I’m listening to them when they speak negative thoughts, but I’m not. It goes in one ear and out the other. It’s like “they’re talking, but I’m not listening”! I simply choose to tune into the “positive” station. I have retrained my listening. If someone came up to you speaking Chinese, there’s a good chance you wouldn’t understand what they’re saying. I don’t understand Chinese, so I would tune it out. I may be hearing something, but it doesn’t register. Retrain your hearing.

Pay attention to what you’re hearing and thinking! Guard your mind! You may have to weed through a 100 negative thoughts till you get to a positive one, but when you come across that positive thought, hold onto it! Keep dismissing the negative sounds in your mind and eventually you’ll hear nothing by the good positive ones! Think good things … ON PURPOSE!

Amen Sistah!! This is exactly the way I live my life,. My theory is....we only have one life and we should make the very best of every moment we are blessed with. Why spoil it with negativity when we can take advantage of the positive, apply to every day life and be content with happiness. It's infectious too and you may even bless someone with the same, just by example.

Enjoy life and be happy :0)

Thanks for the reminder Robin. GREAT advice!!

Bravo, Robin!!!

I work everyday retraining my thoughts. In our society...we are flooded with negativity on many levels. It feels so much better to think positive thoughts and also put those thoughts out to the universe by doing and saying positive things everyday. When I encounter a person who is negative to me, I try and smile anyway and say something positive to redirect their and my thinking. And I try to be polite and nice to people, even ones that I don't know. This is not always easy, but I do make a conscious effort. What comes around, goes around and eventually I believe it will come back to me. Maybe not from that person, but in another way. Random acts of kindness are cool too. It is so easy to be nice to someone you love or like, but it is more challenging to do a kind thing to a stranger.

Sorry for such a long comment. But, I love what you wrote and I could go on and on about this. :)
